Just returmed from track.

I just got back from Darlington and had a pretty cool day. Since it was my first day going I really didnt know what to expect but I guess I did alright. My best run was a 15.1 at 91 MPH. I figured that I would do better but stock tires suck for that kind of traction. My best reaction time was .664 with a 60 ft time of 2.3 but i mis shifted third. I feel if I didnt mis shift I would probably have gotten a 14.9 but we will see next time. BTW I was running with a Civic with a B18C 5 the whole time that was running 14.4s consistintly so I dont feel too bad. If curious my mods are in the link below minus the DC Sports headers (Broke and sent back). Comments and future advise are welcome.

ur a little slow

i think u are a little bit slow, i had a 97 integra gsr w/ aem cai and tanabe exhaust and ran a 15.0...i think u should be around ~14.7...

Correct me if im wrong but a GSR weighs a lot less than a Prelude. I can see getting a 14.9 with my car as is but a 14.6 on stock tires might be asking too much. Stock for a Prelude is 15.9 to 16.0 for a 5 speed anyways and with basic mods and tuning, almost a second off stock is good.

I ran a 14.9 @ 94 with only I/E...you should be running faster than that. What kind of tuning have you done on the V-AFC?

Yes, you are wrong. I ran 15.1 stock everything. So, with so much mods, I would expect it to run 14.6-7 with good shifting and launching.

what kind of sh*t are u smoking saying that a stock lude runs 15.9-16 stock...hahahha

a prelude stock runs just as fast as a gsr stock...gsr vs. lude stock for stock is about the same, it all depends on the driver...dont blame the lude for your lack of driving skills man...take criticisms nicely...so u ran slower than expected, take that reasoning to do better next time around...but dont blame the car, ur the driver...

I started this to get some constructive critisism but has obviously has turned into ****. This was my FIRST time to the track so i feel i did the best that i could for the first time out. Second mistakes can be made and i read stock times for a prelude @ 15.9. If that is incorrect, correct me. You dont have to pull any of this BS ****. I understand that I need to work on a few things but the responses gotten from this post are a little uncalled for.

Lets try this again, here are my times and i would really like some constructive criticsm.

r/t .8 (best r/t all day was .6)
60' 2.3
1/8 9.8
mph 73.61
1/4 15.1
mph 91.8

Where are you shifting at? Im shifting @ 7500 RPM according to VAFC. I checked history after each run. Should I be shifting higher?

Dont we start losing power after like 7400 rpms?
So why is shifting 8000rpms better than redline?
can anyone explain

thx

You should ONLY be shifting at 8000 RPM according to the stock tach.
Stop looking at the V-AFC when you shift, and just use your tach. Shift at 8K, and shift as fast as you can without missing a gear, or mis-shifting, and see how you do.

i always hit the limiter at around 8000. To be safe change your gears between 7650 and 7750.

After all its just a run, you do not want to be banging the rev limiter. If you hit the rev limiter your run will be spoiled. If you shift ~100 rpm early you will still have a great run!

i dont look at my VAFC when im shifting. I just use it as a reference after i run. So from what you guys are saying, im shifting too early?

sorry if i came out as a dick, but i didnt mean to...for my first time @ the track i ran 15.8 w/ my gsr, now datz sh*tty...so i'm not perfect as well, takes practice to get the times down to the respectable level...but anywayz, yes, u should shift @ 8000rpm...think of it like this, when u shift, u loss rpm while u are going to the next gear....so u want to remain as high rpm as possible for the next gear, so by shifting @ 8000rpm, you will retain your rpm higher than you say shifting @ 7500rpm...get my point??? for prelude, i think ur trap speed is kinda slow...maybe shifting fast will get your trap up for the next time...

if your not a big time drag racer.. and with thsoe mods thats not bad at all.. if your running 15.1 with your only real power maker being the aem.. not bad at all... for your first time... evreyone talks big they say they run this and that stock.. but when they say stock they dont mention other stuff.. believe me ive been some prelude meets.. LIKE AT FONTANA and POMONA and most of the prelude guys run slow.. they talk big run slow.. dont feel bad.. btw i have a lude tooo.. and I DONT RUN SLOW hahah~!!!
btw re92 suck bad.. try lowering your tire psi by a bit.. and when you get called up to come in line to race dont drive your car just push it.. keep you intake manifold cooler.. and dont worry about r/t your not RACING RACING... just concetrate on a good lauchn.. and shift before fuel cut and youll hit 14.8..
