Before installing my dc headers today (ceramic) I had aem cai, apexi ws exhaust, and aem pullies - was I supposed to feel a big increase in sound/hp ... anything? the only thing I notice is the burning smell - can ppl with similar setup tell me if this is normal or should I really feel a difference. I know i did when i just had cai and exhaust and I added the pulleys, but this is not worth the 320+ i spent on it ...
thats normally what dc header owners say, mine did the same, didn't notice any performance, but i noticed a sound difference at vtec though, sounded meaner.
haha, same setup here, headers didnt do crap either. its not just you. haha, burning prob from excess lube from loosining bolts. try to get a vafc and tune it.
so yall think vafc is next in line? will it be easy to install myself and then take it to get tuned or should i let them gimp me on installation charges too? i just want to see some gains havent seen em since i got the cai!
on another note - i do love how the car sounds and the headers didn't change it that much but ... would adding that test pipe mess everything up? i really like how the car sounds now with this setup and i heard my car might sound like a farty civic if i get that test pipe.
my car has I/E and ive driven another lude with I/H/E and the sound is VERY noticeable....the one with header sounds soooo much smoother....mine just sounds like raspy and like a fart can

So does anyone has the answer for this question. I 'm curious also. If adding test pipes would make your car worse.
if you add a test pipe you'll need a new muffler, the stock muffler WON'T do! i got a new muffler and everything sounds great!

wow! I was really surprised by some of the posts in this thread.
It seems like no one saw any gains from their DC Headers?!! How is that possible... I have been waiting to buy these and my exhaust (apexi WS) at the same time... now Im thinking well screw it.. Ill go with just the exhaust now!?
I am so confused. Please enlighten me further.. before my wallet gets lighter.

The 5th gen header is good in stock form...so getting a DC header is going to be like getting a nicer looking stock header!! You wont see gains, just a better apearance and sound...

sumone correct me if im jes talking out my a$$ here...but you'd want to stay away from the test pipe unless yer turbo'd or something...with basic bolt ons...its not good to loose too much back preassure

i can tell you for a fact man, i had aem cai and apexi ws before i put in the headers and pulleys - i put the pulleys in first and noticed gains, at same time lights were dimming at idle but that's no biggie - i added headers today and I honestly cannot tell a difference
