i plan to install tomorrow, but i had to ask whether i had to reset ecu by disconnecting battery for like a min. i read sopmewhere that ppl reset ecu after installing engine mods. i dunno whether i am supposed to or not. PLease reply with info so i dont do anything stupid thanks

HEY,no you dont even have to disconect the battery if you dont want to.I installed at cai on a 01 lude and my 97 and its not hard.One thing you will have trouble with is trought the hold under the factory air box,your going to have to cut the hold biger or get some plyers and beend the metal back,if you dont make the hold big enghough it MIGHT ratle some. good luck

I was wondering the same thing...I had heard that you're suppose to reset the ECU each time you add a performance mod. Does anyone know if this is true or not? As for the installation. It's a pain the a$$. Have fun!

Didn't the instruction say to disconnect the battery when installing? That's what it said on mine.

Yes you should reset the ecu after doing any performance mod. Leave your battery disconnected for five minutes. What's bad about our ECU's is that it wants to learn and go back to stock settings after a month or so.

you should reset your ECU every few weeks (if you have any mods). THis topic has been covered before. Do a search.

Wow, somebody else actually read the instructions!!! Old habit of mine but whenever doing involved machanical work on a car, always disconect the battery!!
