Using all the write ups found on US websites we have managed to successfully swap my auto tranny for UKDM Manual 5 speed tranny. It is probably the 1st one to be done in the UK.

The car did not show any CEL and drives relatively well.
The idle however does hover when the car is cold and 'hunts' until its warm at which point it will settle around the 1000rpm mark (usually around 1200rpm)

We have not yet gone ahead with the ECU conversion as per this thread:

what I need to know, is - will the ECU conversion actually sort out the idleing issue? or is it simply to eliminate the CEL?

if not, how do u get it to idle normally?
please reply asap as the car is going to an Auto electrician today

I can't say for sure, but the ECU might very well affect your idle. It's possible that the idle logic is different for autos, since the TC loads the engine at idle unlike a stick.
