Jumping RPM!

Sup guys, i gotta 99' SS lude. Im not sure whats quite the problem, but i believe the tranny is going out, once more. Sometimes between gears it takes maybe a second (more or less) to catch onto the next gear. For example, on 2nd gear @ 3k RPM, then all of a sudden i feel my pedal ease up, and RPM shoots to 4k, then 3rd gear locks and and RPM drops back to normal around 2500 etc. Is this a sign of tranny messing up? I drove my friend's accord and it shifted smooth no jumps or anything. Please help, thanks.

sry 2 hear that, ye it probably means its new transmission time - have you thought of just doing the change over to manual? I spent ALOT on replacing my trany only to be given another tranny with headaches (no ****)

Yea i've thought about that. My dad actually thinks it would worsen my situation, but i dont. Is this possible? Also what kind of problems did you come about after the swap? I did already rebuild/get new SS tranny, so i believe this is the 2nd time if fuked up. Anyway, i do want to do the swap but what kind of probs?

The swap doesn't cause problems. Doing the swap is a problem, since it isn't exactly plug and play. Hit the search bar with "5spd swap".

My dad thought the same thing. In retrospect my dad is a prick... because $2000 later I had another fd up tranny *given the sportshift is just fing headaches* and a car that I couldn't wait to sell - if you need to justify the cost difference to him... just explain that the price of stick shift preludes with the same clicks is usually $1000 more - because people KNOW the problem that comes with the sportssh#$

stick shift - to the world

ESPECIALLY if you already did the rebuild ior got another SS (I actually got one out of Japan) than you should know it's not worth it... your young as I probably was - why gamble with your money when the stick is a great grab - asnd if thats not enough reasoning - only pu#&ies drive auto
