JDM H22A Rebuild Kits

Ok, so after some failed attempts at searching for the information.. I'm left to start yet another NOOB thread lol

Heres the story... I have a 1998 Prelude SH with 220,000 miles. Its been puking oil for the past two weeks and my mechanic said that it was either the cam or crankshaft seals. I was quoted $800 for the repair. Recently I have come across a complete jdm H22a swap (engine, tranny, ecu, wiring harness, aem cold air intake, ect) for $1250. The swap has roughly 89,000 miles on it. My ATTS unit sadly has a crappy JB weld job done to a crack running down the side by the plug (2-3 inches). My only concern is parts for the JDM H22A. Id like to get a rebuild kit like the ones offered for the h22a4 (oil pump, gaskets, bearings, ect) but I cant seem to find more than gasket sets. Since the motor is still h22, would a h22a4 rebuild kit work fine on the JDM h22a with the exception on the pistons and rings?

it will work.
just remember to renew EVERY seal/gasket what there is.

do things properly! check and adjust valves, open the engine, get new head gasket, machine the head, do water pump, piston rings (maybe crank/rod bearings also) and timing things

it will cost you. youll need something like over 2000 for the project

What about just getting the rebuild kit for 500?

you have to count timing belt things to that also. does that kit contain them also? piston rings and so on. plus machining

and are they oem parts? if you put some random seals/gaskets they dont last long, trust me.

No machining.. So is it better to just swap it in and look for another motor to build over time? I dont have 2k on top of the $1250

count what everything costs, I was meaning that the WHOLE project costs something like 2000, like parts if you do the work yourself. more of course more if you dont.

head should be always machined if opened, and if youre getting new engine its wise to open and rebuild everything (seals/gaskets/timing and so on)
