JDM Gauge Cluster

I would like to know if it is possible to replace a JDM Gauge Cluster which shows 180km/h with the typeSH OEM gauge cluster that only shows 150? Ive seen some with 220km/h. Can I install either one without doing anything else? If I hit 50mph will it show as 70mph? I sent a message to a seller on Ebay and he told me hes had people buy them off of him and install them without a problem. Is there anyone in here that has a cluster with 180km or above that does not have any issues? I would really want to swap to a 180km one. Thanx

Do you have a friend you can swap clusters with? That would be a sure fire way to know if it works or not and its a pretty easy job, only a few screws and a couple of plugs.

It's plug-and-play. I swapped my stock Canadian cluster (goes to 250 km/h) with a JDM cluster (180 kph) and there were no issues whatsoever.

you know the oem cluster shows speed as mph with km/h as the subset. the jdm one is the opposite, are you doing this just to see km/h instead of mph? or do you like the bezel or needle colors or something else?

it is plug and play though, no issues other than your milage being inaccurate. don't tug on the needles.

the only reason im doing it is because I like a cluster that shows more mph and it looks much better too. Im trying to go all JDM. JDM Fenders, Bumber, lip kit, jdm visors and more. So far I have the bumper and lip and Ive included S2000 seats.

if i'm not mistaken i think the JDM clusters ONLY have km/h and no mph at all..correct me if i'm wrong...if it does have mph as a subset though, i'd def. pick up a cluster for the right price..the yellow needles and CF bezel are very nice touches

no MPH on JDM bezels, nor do they have a hole for the "reset maintenance" button.

oopsie then. but shimee brings a good piont, you'd have to get a cluster with the plastic shield too otherwise you'll have a hole letting dust in.

One more thing with JDM clusters. They do not have the green light that indicates when your cruise control is on.

maybe i'm reading it wrong.. but i been meaning to tell you that... km/h and different from mph you know that right?

150mph is 240km/h ... so getting the 180km/h one is going to mean you top off around 110mph on the gauge.. you'd have to get the cluster that goes to like 280 km/h or so i think i've seen.. but 50mph and 50km/h is not the same thing you know that right? just making sure

Good thing you mentioned that because thats something I did not know. Thank You very much. Thanks to everyone. I was thinking about it after this chat Im leaving it behind. I just ordered the gauge rings for 50$ on ebay. They look great. I know most of you paint them. I did as well. trust me is so much nicer with the chromed rims.

wow that's a good chunk of change.

duplicolor makes an excellent chrome enamel from my experiences. i'd just go ghetto on my rings.

this is the website were I found out how to paint them. you do the same thing by removing them and just changing them to the chromed ones

no offense, but i've heard that since those aren't the JDM chrome rings they're kinda ghetto..they just go over the stock rings and make the cluster look bulky and protrude around the gauge

I recommend looking around for a set of bronze rings. I got mine off Thepreludedude here in PO and they made my bland looking cluster look great.

Good luck!
