Hey guys, I bought a 2001 Base Prelude about a month ago. I was driving recently, and after shifting to 4th gear, the car just shut off on me, and all of the lights came on (check engine, etc.)..but after about 2 seconds after being on the right side of the road, I was able to start back up again. This hasn't happened again, but only this one time, but I'm still kind of worried about it. Also, sometimes it's hard to start the car, I have to twist the key all the way around 2-3 times, after the first 2 times being unsuccessful ( the key goes all the way around, but i don't hear anything igniting or any other noises really ). Sometimes i move it back and forth from first gear / neutral and that fixes the problem, and the car starts.

I'm thinking this is an ignition switch problem, but i'm not sure. I don't think it's the distributor or main relay, because while the car doesn't start, it still has power (i.e. the lights come on and the radio too) anyone have any advice on what to do to fix this? I only have about 300 bucks handy to do any work.

Yeah your ignition is never supposed to turn around in circles..

You pointed out your own problem.. get that fixed.
