interior

what do you people think of painting the interior black plastic pieces. Right now I have an aluminun layover kit, but im so sick of the layover thing. I really want to paint them silver. Any suggestions? Anyone done this? I already ordered 1 piece to paint it and see how it looks. Anyways, any comment is welcomed. Thanks,
Danny

By the way- Here is my interior right now...

Yeah, what kind of paint did you use? That looks nice... metallic blue? Think the chrome paint from Home Depot would work?

it looks like it's the stock piece painted with a carbon trim over it.

Personally, I think you should leave it. painting it without doing the entire interior looks whack (in my opinion)

I've tried messing with that chrome paint, but it always comes out more like silver. I'd say, leave it alone.

well here's the deal. Im gonna get a new radio trip piece in the mail in about a week. I bought it for $10. So i think I'll go ahead and do it, and then decide how it looks in the end. I mean, it's not like it is any amount of money

custom interiors

No offence meant to anyone who worked hard on their interior.....

some of these self-made interiors with extra incorrectly mounted gauges and clusters and extra CRAYOLA colors seem really WHACK...in a not so good way.....they look like someone ****ed up the professional interior and forgot to clean it up.....the original interior with maybe a little factory wood trim looks sweet to me....the aluminum and like blue and all those weird colors look really odd in a prelude.....it just reminds me too much of like a civic with foglights, mufflers, skirts and fuzzy seats hanging all over the place......it looks really tacky and out of place..something a 16 year old would do to his 12 year old car...cuz noone bothers to actually cut holes in the upholstery and mount the stuff properly so it looks really amateur.....I used to do that **** to my 91 corolla....i had like a digital compass and a thermometer, like all this other ****, like wacky colored stuff that i did myself.....when i got my prelude.....i took like RIDICULOUS pains not to **** with stuff, and when i did, its all hidden behind panels and integrated into its respective spots......its retarded to have **** hanging all over the cockpit.....just my 200 rubles.

painting every plastic piece you can find reminds me of a civic.

I used that high temp. paint. The stuff used for motors. Put 2 or 3 layers of that and 2 layers of a clear coat. I think it looks pretty good. If I had pics, I'd post them, but my brother did something with my digi cam, and I don't know where it is.

I can see where you are coming from. I personally am not into doing a whole lot of crazy interior ****. But, I personally do like my aluminum trim, the only part I don't like is the fact that it is a layover kit. That is why im gonna try and paint a piece silver and see how it looks.

Are you anti interior people saying all interior makeovers are ugly or are you saying the crappy ones are bad? I personally don't mind good make overs like a clean white interior or a nice combo of colors.. but yeah I think those cars with bright orange paint on neon green trims etc etc are a little extreme.
