Intake for my 01 lude

I have an 01 lude and i want to get an intake in it...but i dont want th really loud noise like the aem gives it. A little bit louder than stock would be fine but nothing overly loud. Any suggestions? what does everyone think about the Iceman cai?

thanks

It will give about the same "loudness" as the AEM. A friend of mine has this (ludikris), and they don't sound a whole lot different. The reason cold-air intakes sound louder is because the resonator below the intake is removed during installation. If you're wanting a better breathing intake without being too loud, I'd suggest the Honda JDM Type S intake. It looks boxier than the OEM intake. It is supposed to funnel in more air through chambers. When I had this intake, there was more of a "growl" when I revved it, and it seemed more responsive to me. You can read a brief snippet of it in this article on the Prelude Type S: http://www.hyakushiki.com/reads/type-s/index.html

I haven't seen dyno numbers on the OEM vs. Type S intake, but my guess is it won't be a whole lot, especially if it is your only performance mod. At any rate, I had gotten mine from James Chan (98Luder, www.performance-evolution.com).

Everyone always says the AEM CAI is really loud, but I don't find it loud at all.....do you mean loud..as in when you're flooring it when the RPMS hit around 4000 or so...or do you mean when the car is just idling and you hear it sucking in air....

just remove the resonator, any intake is going to give you no more hp gain than that. everyone gets the aem cause it's proven and durable. just get it, you will be happy!!
