Installed Crower Cams, Need advice

I just had my crower stage 2 cams installed today. After driving it around for the break-in, I started to get on it. I have a vafc that I had set the vtec to 4800 rpm's. Me and a friend of mine noticed that whith these settings the car would hestitate for 400 rpm's without the pull of vtec, but after that it would pull like normal. So we increased the setting to 5200 rpm's and it pulled without the hesitation. Is this normal with the Vafc? I haven't done any other tuning to anything except the vtec engagement point. I have the usual i,h,e,&p. Some things we did notice was it pulls a lot harder in second and third gears. And it is also louder, especially when the vtec kicks in. I plan on getting it dyno tuned in a couple of weeks. Just if you are wondering the cams are the ones with the stock lobe. I also have the skunk2 cam gears and the crower springs and retainers. Any suggestions on the tuning will be a great help.

you probably need to add more fuel with your VAFC.You'll figure it out when you get to the dyno.

Yes, untuned the Crower cams will most likely have a big dropout of power around the VTEC crossover.... or at least mine were like that...
