ima dumb ass

while putting my spark plug cover back onto my valve cover i wasnt paying much attention and somehow managed to break one of the bolts. So the threaded part is stuck in the valve cover hole and the bolthead is off.

My question is..... does the threading go into the valve cover alone? OR, does it go into the head?

Im thinking, if I purchaced a new valve cover, which i was going to do anyways (red jdm valve cover), I could just buy a new bolt and everything would be just dandy.....

unless of course, the threaded part is also in the head...which in that case, i dont know what to do

Thanks to anyone who helps out!

haha, that takes like ALOT of tq

no, none of the SPC bolts go into the head, just the valvecover. They are purely 'pretty' parts and not necessary at all.

just don't over tighten the VC nuts when they go on... hand tighten ONLY haha.

I am serious though, just drill it out!!!!! Will be tough with the aluminum valve cover, but you don't need a new one. If you want to change the colour, just paint it.

Your $$$ though, do it if you want!!!!!!

That is some bad advice. You can buy screw extractors at most major auto stores for a few bucks. Basically they are screw-thread heads which are reverse threaded. Just tap them into the bolt until they get started, then twist until bolt starts coming loose.
