Im a idiot... DIY break into your own car?

can anyone sticky a thread to break into your own car without damaging it. The autolock mechanism in my car pisses me off. im constantly tinkering with things and i had the keys in the ignition (both sets *slaps forehead*) and i forgot it automatically locks. I dont really want to call a lockout guy unless i absolutely need to. but i dont want to break anything so i might just play it safe pay the 70$ and move on with my life. but if theres a trick anyone would like to share i'd appreciate it thanks luders!

You'd like someone to sticky a thread on a forum the public can see, on how to break into our cars?

How about one for home alarm codes?
Credit card numbers?
Debit card PIN numbers?

Further, I don't know how you can have two sets of keys in the ignition. There is only one ignition, and the auto lock feature on any Prelude I've seen won't lock the door if the keys are in the ignition. I often spend many hours working on my car with the radio on and the car has yet to lock on me.

I seriously hope no one is stupid enough to actually answer this thread with tips on how to break into our cars. PM the OP perhaps, but DON'T post it publicly!!!

im assuming he means his main key and backup key.....just pay the 70 bucks.....its better than breaking something and having to deal with that.....i payed 100 to get my door open so 70 is a pretty good deal

Wow both key in one string huh?
Pay it and be done with. Better then breaking something while trying to get it open causing more then $70.

Keep the extra in the house..

Bailer wire is better.. easier to bend to the shape you need and longer.

Where I use to work people would lock their keys in their cars all of the time. Dodge rams to civics and everything in between. Typically less than 5 minutes (most of the time less than 3) and I was able to pop the door and get the keys. Freaking Pathfinders are hard since you have to hit the lock switch or catch the lock lever in the handle since neither door handle unlocks + opens. That one took about 10 frustrating minutes.

Does that imply that you have locked all your keys in your car more than once?

No sir. My spare stays with whomever is closest to me at the time. So my ex-whore of a fiance use to have it. But now my brother does.

Anyway, I've actually never locked my keys in this car. However, I've used the coat hanger for other people who have locked their keys in.

Just checking.

Fyi, you can get a key copied at the hardware store to use on the doors. It won't work in the ignition, but it's about 1000x cheaper than a new key from Honda if you don't have the red key (I don't). Since hardware store keys are flat, I keep one in my wallet. That way I wouldn't have to wait for someone to show up with my backup key.

I've never actually locked my keys in the 'lude, but I did it in my truck with manual locks a few times. It also had manual crank windows though, so that was always and easy fix.

And no real need for the red key unless you lose all of your keys...

Theres a reason Honda introduced the T5 keys you know (code from already valid key geta copied to T5 key and geta cut to car and you're good to go). There's no need to unlock the ECU as the new T5 key doesnt need programmed to the ECU as it dupes the code from an already valid key.

^smart people usually would. I dont get how others fail to have one, like what is the point of power locks if you dont have a fob to command them with?
