Ice Box for the lude????

My friend has a 2000 GS-r and just bought a Comptech Ice box. It is an intake but is different than say an AEM CAI because it is not an open air filter. It is in an enclosed box and keeps the car looking stock under the hood. You still use the factory tube with it also. It made his car louder but not too loud, it sounds ****ing sweet and seems soooo much faster than before. it cost 260 tho,

Does anyone know if they make anything like this for our Preludes????? if so please let me know, thanks

That's what it sounds like to me. Ask Andrewdelvard.

I know for sure that Comptech doesn't make one of these for the Lude.....although if they did...I don't think it would measure up in performance to the AEM CAI anyways...the only good thing about it, from what i understand..is that it won't void your warranty b/c it's Comptech..

the thing with the ice box is that it uses a cone filter not a panel filter, like our preludes do. Basically u can buy an aftermarket "shorty" intake and build a box around it to keep the filter isolated from the engine heat, then have piping from the fender feed the box.

comptech doesnt make anyhting for preludes
when i asked why they said that not enough people have them and they may if they have time cause there making parts for the all mighty accord..
but last time i checked there are more preludes than s2g's and the 2.2 is a better platform than an accord model
they were worthless in answering my questions and honestly pretty rude

Actually.. um... ... I have Andy's airbox. It's almost the same as stock, retains the USDM air filter, and the lower resonator box is the same. The difference is in the tube connecting the airbox to the throttle body... it's significantly larger.
