I have a chance to get a body kit painted and installed for free. I can't decide whether to get the OEM underspoiler kit or get the wings west kit. The OEM is a little too subtle, but the Wings West is a little too aggressive, so I cant decide!!!! The OEM kit is around 800-900 and I think the Wings West kit is 500-600. I know I know, the OEM comes painted, but they discontinued San Marino Red, So I'd have to buy the Milano Red kit and then have it repainted to San Marino Red. What to do what to do???
Does anyone else know of a body kit for the 5th gen that is made out of urethane and that's available still?
Does anyone know of any really really good prices on the OEM kit or the Wings West?
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
Who is paying for it then? U said your rents were and in the first sentence it says that u r getting a body kit painted and fitted for free
In my opinion the OEM looks like a big ripp off of the SH side skirts and thats why i bought the SH Sides.... However, i bought the sides because of money to make my car look a little cleaner but once I get more $$$ (just wasted on koni's and H&R) Mos Def i will be going with WW RS Looks much much better . . .
I got my OEM Kit last Friday and my rear under spoiler today. To me it looks nice and I can't wait to put dem on. My buddy says to put sum wax underneath where it mounts. I'm not too sure why u would need that for.
Originally posted by PilotSH axngen, thanks for the price info! I'll give them a try. So you have them on your car? How is the fitment of the kit?
yep, got the RS kit on my car... the fitment is pretty good...only the sideskirts are a little longer than they should be..but that isn't really a big problem....
Just look at my sig and you have my argument for the OEM kit
Plus, not too offend any RS kit owners out there (God knows there's thousands of you), but the kit just doesn't fit very well on the sides and back from what I've seen. Too much gap, not very clean looking. Best color for the RS is black because you can't see where it doesnt blend in. Red shouldn't be too bad though.
can someone tell me how easy it is to do the install yourself if i take the kit and get it painted
if i need to drill holes or anything, i dont' want to end up with a horror story to tell u guys about how i messed up the install and the kit is partially hanging off and my car with a million holes in it
icecube, you're hilarious! I thought those pics may change your mind.
as for installing them yourself, I heard its not hard at all. Just take the part, test fit if to make sure it fits ( have 2 extra friends, cuz it helps), using your friends to hold it in place, and make little markings (with grease pencil) so when you put it on with the double sided sticky tape, you know exactly how it should be placed. Before sticking it on, make sure the holes for the screws match up with the holes in the car. Not too hard, but test fitting is essential!

blacklude, I dun remember ever mentioning my parents in my posts?!?! I WISH I got money from them hahaha. I'm too old fer that. Im getting it painted and installed fer free cuz my car is getting some body work done to it (other party's fault) and after talking to this guy at the autobody shop, he agreed to paint and mount the kit on fer free. But he didn't want to work with fiberlass and the such cuz fitment is usualy veryy poor, ( I hate fiberglass body pieces anyway) so its automatically either OEM kit or WingsWest RS.
yup, www.newwayautosports.com seems to have the best price. So icecube, I guess after that OEM kit sale that you've jumped shipped from getting the WW RS? TRAITOR!!! hahaha j/p man. hope it turns out well for you.
kulsechsky, I really like your kit man. I just don't like fiberglass cuz
