I have a 2001 Prelude SH and the atts keeps giving me problems. so im at UCM in my Transmission overhaul class and I want to do the switch. toss the ATTS and put in a JDM M4B2 trans. Im willing to drive far to get it, or even pay extra. also where would i be able to purchase a rebuild kit for this transmission... THANKS
So you want to delete ATTS or swap the engine and transmission?
It seems like you haven't done the proper research.
Also, you mean M2B4, not M4B2.

no im keeping the motor. and doing big of fabbing with some base intermediate shaft, with both male ends. and making an adapter plate that i will thread to my block. and yes you are correct M2b4
Have you considered rebuilding the ATTS unit and keeping your car as is?
P.S. You really shouldn't confirm back to me something I've already said.

Don't get the M2B4, you think the viscous LSD is going to hold up any better than ATTS? Get a trans that either comes with a gear type LSD or one that can hold one, you can't change the diff in the M2B4.

Gear ratios are nearly identical between the two and the final drives are the same. Main difference is the M2Y4 will turn slightly more RPM on the highway as it has slightly less overdrive gearing (.78 vs .81), doubt you would even notice.
M2Y4 is better since you can change the final drive and diff where in the M2B4 no aftermarket FD or LSD will work in it's case, that's why that trans sucks.
