Ok, so I'm considering buying some AGX's, they are selling for a decent price on ebay right now. I am buying them because I know for sure my struts and strut mounts need replacing, but I at first thought about GR-2 struts, but I want the adjustability of the AGX. Also, I was thinking about lowering the car. Does the AGX let you put coilovers on it, or would that be just as bad as putting coilovers on GR-2's? (I guess I'm asking that if you lowered the car on AGX struts, would the blow prematurely just as if you did it on GR-2's?)
I would love to buy Koni yellows, because I know they allow for 5 places you can set for lowering it. just wondering if the agx struts had something anything like that to offer.

The AGX just has stiffness settings. They go 1 - 4 and go from mushy to hard. Right now I have been running them for nearly 60k miles and they are starting to show their age. To me there are better shock choices.
I agree with Solid. I have the Gr-2's and they are basically OEM replacements, thought I'd swear they are a little mushier. I wish I had gone with the AGX's. I like the ride so much more.
i've had AGX's for about 3 and a half years now (about 30k miles) and have no complaints. Since the day I got them, i've been running Neuspeed sport springs.
so would it be ok to put lowering springs on the agx struts, or would u all not recommend it? "what the.." says he has 30k miles doing it...if thats true for every case, and not just a fluke, i'll go for it.

If I recall correctly, KYB recommends no more than a 1.5" drop on the AGX's, and no more than a 50% increase in spring rate. So basically, any "sport" spring you find will work fine.
A forum search will find plenty of people on this site who've used sport springs w/ AGX's for long periods of time, myself included.

hey how many inches lower is your car on nuespeed springs?
This is on 17's. Not the greatest pic, because you can't see where the rubber ends all that well - but it's about a two finger gap. I'll see if I can get some pics with the sixteens, but the gap is about the same.
My bro. has the AGX shocks with coilovers. He has them on setting 2 of 4 and loves the way it rides. It is stiff, but no so much that you are bouncing around and feeling every little crack in the road.
My personal opinion is that you can't go wrong with the versatility of an adjustable shock.
Im looking to get at least two inch drop all around. I know its a little too low but I like how the tires are kinda "tucked" in my wheel well. Know of any good springs that'll enable me to lower it that much. I did some searching and only found 1.5 inch
great info everyone. helped alot. I'll prolly do a 1"-1.5" drop in the back, and a 1.5"-1.75" in the front. thanks to everyone who participated in this post. also, if n e one has n e more comments, feel free!

if you would like, I just installed KYB AGX's on my lude with H&R sport springs, I can take some pictures of it so you can see if you want to go lower or not as low. Personally I think it's perfect... it's a 1.4" drop in the front and back... no problems scraping anywhere and looks good! very happy
Whats the best shock/drop springs to go with I have seen so many brands I have never heard of on the internet and what not...is Eibach and kyb a good set up? Also a little off topic but "what the..." what rims are those they look really good.
