Just installed my replica header and the shop that installed it, used a torch to cut the crossmember. My problem is whenever i accelerate, even a little, i feel and hear something knocking. My first thought is that they didn't cut enough of the crossmember. As soon as i push the pedal, there is a rapid knocking noise and i can feel the vibrations through the pedal. Under idle and braking, everything is fine. Any ideas?? heres a picture of the crossmember
You're right. They didn't trim enough. It's banging when the engine torques.

Dammit i knew it, is there anyway i can just cut a little more myself w/the header still installed? I'm guessing i'd have to jack it up and do it from underneath, so what would should i use?
When mine was installed, I had the same problem. They didn't cut near enough. I took it to my local muffler shop and had them remove s'more with a torch.

If there is that much torque on that crossmember....is it a good idea to take some the material that helps its integrity?
The engine is torquing, which sends the header forward, which hits the stationary crossmember.

Well you're going to need to cut it no matter what. It's flush with the cross member installed. You probable don't need to cut it as much as I did with aftermarket mounts and stuff, but you're going to need to cut it at least a little.
