HP at the wheels?

How do you determin how much Horse Power you have at your wheels? I know people who say they got like a 830hp Supra and he got 360hp at the wheels. what does this mean? and how do you determin it?

you can guestimate by taking the fly hp and multiplying by 82-87% depending on the car

the 830hp would be how much hp the motor is producing, while the 360whp is how much hp is actually present at the wheels. You lose quite a bit of power as it is transfered through the drivetrain (resistance is a #*%&@)

I know a way to get close to the actual HP@wheels.

If you know what your engine HP is (at the crank), take 10-20 % from it and there it is.

You lose about 10-20% to the wheels.

Stock Preludes typically lose 20-25% through the drivetrain though. I've seen a stock 5G SS dyno in at 144 HP stock and some lighlty modded SH's and 5 speeds dyno in at 155-165 WHP. Of course all those dynos were in TX, I have yet to find out if Temp was a cause of the low HP #'s.

200 * 0.75 = 150 WHP (average)

Did that Supra dyno in reverse or something?

830 flywheel HP Supra dyno's in at 360 RHP @ 3000 RPM (in reverse gear).
