How's my ride.............gonna ride?

I have the Neuspeed Sport Springs that lower the car about an inch and a quarter. I have had the "shock knock" cured and i was gonna put the springs on without new struts. I know that i will have a little harsher ride but will it be all THAT bad without new shocks???? I was talking to a friend of mine and he said the stock struts would be fine with a drop that small... What do you guys think???

I knew someone who had em on with factory struts and really had no problems. For nuespeed sports, you shouldnt have a problem. Though, I do not believe he was a racer.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm about to buy a red 2001 Prelude and will be lowering it, putting on a front strut tower bar, and a rear sway bar.

The people on here advised me to get koni yellow shocks. They're around $500, so I think I'll install 'em. Anyway, I'm nearly positive I'm getting them, but I really do hope they make a nice improvement on the handling/ride and arent just a waste of money.

I have the Neuspeed Sport's to go w/KYB AGX's. My ride is dropped ~1.5-1.7in. (1-1.5 finger gap) Have u put ur springs on yet? The Neuspeed site says it'll drop the front 1.5 and the rear 1.7. Maybe urs hasn't settled yet

Anyways, w/out after-mkt shocks ur ride would actually be more bouncy, due to the stock shocks not matching the Neuspeed's higher spring rates. But I think u won't suffer too much since the Neuspeed's are progressive rated and the drop isn't so severe. Beware though ur stock shocks would not last as long!

My recommendation as always is to upgrade both the springs and shocks at once, save on labor and get the best performance!! Happy Dropping!!!

Thanks for the advice! Yeah i would definately put new shocks on if i had the money. I just bought the car used for 19,100 and i got the underspoiler kit, carbon fiber kit, a thermal exhaust and the springs and i need to pay for the payments so for now im kinda broke. maybe ill just wait to put the springs on until i get new shocks, but i love the lowered look and the better handling. i used to have a '94 civic with a lot of mods and after driving a lowered car its hard to drive one thats stock. Thanks though

Your car will just be bouncy compared to if you had shocks like Koni's where your ride would be nice and firm, for example if you hit a bump your car will bounce like 3 times, versus if you have koni's your car would only bounce like once maybe twice...

the combo of shocks/springs if awesome, you definitely cannot go wrong with it...
