I sprayed the whole cover with a can of aircraft stripper, let it eat away the black paint, and used an angle grinder with a soft wire core to strip it off. It was pretty shiny after just doing that. After I painted it red, I used Mother's Aluminum Wheel polish on the VTEC lettering and got a very nice shine out of it.
Did you replace the valve cover gasket when you reinstalled it? I was thinking of doing this, but i dont want to pull it all apart and get ahead of myself.

ya, replace the gasket. using the old one wont work since its already expanded, and use some silicone sealent in the corners or any part that pinches.
check ebay they have some cheapy ones.
Thanks for the help. I thought so, but anything to save a buck, you know? And as far as the paint going i've heard caliper paint works great. Its made for high heat applications.

haha, no. vc paint works 4 vcs, and brake calipers- vc paint is cheaper.
