I woulda guessed the same. You might as well ask them to install a JRSC and a 50 shot.....I hear the Honda dealers in Canada are the exact opposite tho......Damn US Honda Dealers!!!!

In most towns there is a shop that does ONLY honda/acura work... but its not Honda... like 20 year honda techs who got pissed and quit and opened their own shop, the one here is called HondaAcurate, a place like that would be the best bet for price and reliabilty... check around.

Considering labor alone on a clutch replacement is around 500 dollars... I would say... $4,000-ish

I see so many posts about people swapping their SS transmissions for a manual. Why not just get the Manual to begin with?

isn't that kind of a dumb question....or at least an obvious answer....some people didn't buy the car, others don't know how to drive stick, some bought it used an didn't have a choice, others thought that it would be better but didn't know bout the problems, others are lazy, some drive in traffic....many reasons.

In my case it took me over a month to find a 5th gen for sale... I didn't care if it was SS or 5 speed, I actually wanted the SS, and have been happy with it. I MIGHT do the swap for performance reasons, but I might not...

I bought a SS because I was force to do so.. I totaled my turbo civic ex when some dumb ass try to cut infront of me and brake all of a sudden...To make the long story short... my family disagreed me to buy a 5 sp so I got to buy SS with no choice... I guess they didn't stop me from making my car faster.. so I later decided to swap SS to a 5 sp LSD... Normally the shop will charge 2500 to 3500 to do the swap.. If you are going to do the swap make sure that the shop knows what the hell they are doing and ask them to install a LSD... Good LUck

Anywhere from $2000-$3000 dollars....

I rebuilt SS Trans is about $4000.00.... so doing a 5speed change is probablly worth it.

You can get a 5 Speed and all the parts from a salvage year for $1000-$2000 dollars. NBD.

I've talked to a few guys that have gone this route.

First, they would rip your pants down, then they would bend you over and rape dat ass !! They charge out the ass for a tune-up, so if you asked for a tranny swap, they would bust out the vaseline on ya dude. : )

West Palm Beach, Florida. Ask for John Roth in parts. 1-561-966-5000. If he can't help call John Brown Racing (JBR) they might do it. 1-561-921-0472.

Luu's Honda/Acura repair in middlesex
either of them should do it right
