how long will a 5th gen idle on 1 gallon of gas?

i was sitting outside of a resturaunt last nite, and it took my friend about 15 minutes to make it bad. & i started wondering, if anyone knew about how long (in minutes) a the gen will idle for on 1 gallon of gas....

I actually tried this once. It was exactly the amount of time it took me to pump out a good stool after eating a number 6 at McDonalds: An hour and 15 minutes.

a long ass time!!!!!!!!


probably 5-6 hours if its just sitting there idling...probably longer.

is it better to turn off engine if idling for like 3-5 minutes?

some people put at neutral and just put hand brake

whats better?

I thought it's bad for the motor to idle for a long time.

It's worse for an engine to be started and shut off during short intervals, because for about 15 seconds after starting your car there is no oil lubricating mains, and what not. If you're just planning on driving down the street, and picking someone up, and taking right back off, its best to leave running (depending on where you live)
