How long to replace fender? - Honda Prelude Forum

I'm needing to unbolt & replace a front fender & I need to estimate how long it takes (I don't want what I guess in time to end up taking 4 times longer).

If anyone has swapped fenders before, about how long did it take...start to finish?

Also, from the exploded diagrams I obtained, it looks like I have to remove the front bumper cover THEN the inner wheel well lining, THEN the fender...then reverse order. I may need to repair the headlight that has broken mount bracket while I'm in there...so the bumper cover, then fender well, then fender, THEN headlight need to come out (in that order) before reassembly, right? Is that correct?

Sorry to sound like an idiot, but I can't have the car disassembled for too long...

All advice is appreciated.

Yes. That exact order. Its bolted in one spot that is behind the fender. Also the headlight is bolted in the same spot, basically its bolted through the fender. So to get the fender out you have to partially remove the headlight. You dont need to entirely remove the splash guard, just enough to get to the bolts. Its also bolted in two spots inside the door jamb where the hinges are. A ratcheting box-end wrench is useful here.

For a first time job it should be around 3 to 4 hours. And I'm being generous here, might take less.

I really don't think (read: hope) it takes me 3-4 hours.

can you share the diagram that you obtained? i might need replacing my fender in the future. i think 3-4 hours is enough based on some forum threads i read
