How to install cam seals?

I am doing a timing belt and noticed the cam seals behind the sprockets are leaking. I got the seals out, but I want to know the right way to put them on without messing up the seal. I heard you pack the open end with grease to keep the spring in and install, some use oil on the cam, but what is the right way to do it?

Wrong cam seal. I am talking about the ones on the other side of the cams. Behind the timing sprockets.

If you put grease on the outside only, you can just push them in with everything bolted and torqued down. Thats what I did and I haven't had any problems out of it.
