Well i finally went and passed the small test except the obdII test. Soi have 3 months to go back and try again. I mean i really dont wanna through my old ecu in there which i dont even have so im wondering how other ppl get pass the test. One person i know they didnt even test him cause his kit was too low and just gave him a 2 yr waiver. Why cant i be that lucky. And i dont think the 450 dollar repair order way of getting pass the test is going to work because they need to be able to test it first to have that... blah
What is an OBDII test? Do they actually hook it up to a diagnostic computer or something? How would they ever know as long as your car were running clean enough to pass a sniffer test? I'm glad they don't do any of that sh!t in Texas. Hell, you can pass with just about anything here.

in Cali, they plug into the reader underneath the carpet to the right of the radio. It checks all the sensors and make sure its all online and functioning. the OBDI ecu does not know how to read all the new sensors added to the OBDII cars so it wont pass. It breaks down to two things: 1) find another manual ecu, reflash it to work with your imobilizer for the smog test 2) find a seedy smog shop that will let another prelude take the smog for you or pass you somehow.
im gonna try next week again, im pretty sure if i fail twice then they will take a repair order and pass you as long as its for over 450 and i got a shop that will write me one up. i hope it works
