How to clean out the interior blower fan

Can the interior blower fan be accessed fully without removing the evaporator next to it? Really don't want to drain the A/C system but I have a mouse nest that needs to get the f*#$ out of my blower fan. Turbine can slide down a bit but not out from the housing due to the floor being so close below it.

yeah you can get at it by taking off the black crower piece under the windshield wipers. I just cleaned out mine and I was shocked to see how much crap was actually in there. My car also sat for a long time and I think it was an animal nest of some kind. haha

Thanks a billion for the tip! The Honda Prelude service manual made is seem like there was no other way but to remove the evaporator. I'll give it a go tonight. Do you know if that will give me access to the heater unit (sits right behind the radio) as well? I must have stuff stuck in there too because I can't get my temperature slider to move all the way to the left without hitting something.

No idea about your blower issue, but the temp slider may just need lubricating. The part that needs lubricating is actually in the engine bay, right on the firewall itself. If you look down you'll see a little cable thingy coming through the firewall connecting to some kinda lever thingy. Lubricate this. Wish I had a pic to explain. There's a thread on here about it. Anyway, I did that and my temp slider actually slides without making me worry that it's gonna break off in my hand.

Not making fun of you, but for a forum of car people, that is one of the funniest descriptions I've seen before. A little cable thingy connecting to some kinda lever thingy. I love it.
