how to adjust stock alarm?

Hi,

I just bought a 97 prelude, which came with a stock alarm. The people that owned it before me used to lock the doors manually, because the alarm would stop going off in the middle of the night. They thought this still armed the alarm, but of course it doesn't.

So, when my alarm went off the last time, I ran diagnostics and found that it did indeed think glass was being broken, so I think I can fix the problem by turning down the sensitivity of the mike. However...

I can't find the brain! Can anyone provide me with some tips on accessing the most likely place the module is kept and adjusting the sensitivity (looks like a philips screwdriver will do the trick if I can find the place to use it)

Thanks!
Barrett

Stick some foam over the mic, or tape it off if the problem persists. I don't think you can adjust the sensitivity of the mic like the shock sensor. A falsing alarm is as good as useless.

On the stock alarm you can adjust the sensitivity of the glass breakage sensor by using a philips screwdriver. I would set it in the middle because that is where it works best. If you set it too low it won't go off even if someone broke your window.
