I do feel that the car is more sluggish in the summer. But in winter, I have winter tires on and have snow on the ground, so still I won't want to do anything "thrilling" around corners and end up smashing it. But the car does feel a little more "peppy" during the winter. Maybe it's the cold air (really really cold air), and it could also be my thinner tires 195/65/r15. But I've noticed that the fuel economy is quite bad compared to summer time.

That is the part I don't quite understand, why you got more power in the winter and drives more conservative, but you got worse gas mileage?

I am thinking this has something to do with the difference in summer gas vs. winter gas? other than that, I can't think of any other reason....

eh, the minimal loss in power is more than made up for by the fact that my car does not idle and groan like a v8, or rattle over every pebble in the summer as it does in winter

A cold (32F and lower) engine always runs richer and is under more 'stress' meaning it burns more fuel. The gas is the same up here regardless of the season; owners just need to remember mix in some gas line antifreeze if the car is parked outdoors during the winter.

that statement is true because now that it is hott, my gas lasts alot more than it did when it was cold. I haven't put gas in since saturday and today if friday ... and i drive my car hard and everyday for about 50-90 miles a day

I don't really feel the power loss, only when my air conditioner is on do I feel anything. hot weather makes my prelude shift a lot more smoothly than cold weather though. I wish it shifted like this the entire year.

I live in Tx and believe me the difference is like night and day when the temp. is well over 100+ degrees.

Like what SCREAMER5300 said.....Cold air is more dense than hot hair....which gives you more oxygen molecules, which makes the burn more efficient, which gives you more power. Anymore questions go to Howstuffworks.com. Great site, explains everthing in elementary terms, nuff said. Peace.
