honda prelude type sh 98 rebuilt engine

hello guys, well im here for some help of to any experienced prelude owner.

1 week ago, my prelude messed up, crank got scratched then piston rings and rods.

i talked to my friend/mechanic guy and we decided to rebuilt the whole engine because for some reason it would burn so much oil.

i would love to turbo it but i have a sh type so atts will shutdown at 250whp. right?. so im gonna get a supercharged.

the thing is what should i get. what type of piston rings?rod? i was thinking about type s rings. im not trying to go crazy on whp with 220-240whp i would be satisfied. please give me some advice on what to get.. rods?rings?cam gears? etc. thanks!!!

1. Learn how to type.

2. Do your own research, use the search button.

3. When you have a specific question about something, make a post.

in rycon's defense he can be really helpful sometimes!

i'm new here, too but i've been a member of car forums for a while now and it can be really frustrating when you're trying to help someone but can't because you have no idea what they're talking about. also there are those that are just too lazy to search for answers on their own. the same topics will come up day after day with new members because they won't check the archives. i admit, i'm guilty of it too!

english isn't my first language either. yet one of my degrees is in english. go figure! please don't use 'esl' as an excuse for being unintelligible. you take away everything others have overcome to communicate. this is a forum based on text. without grammar, we have nothing. /rant.

all that said, on one hand, if you just want people to jack you off about what parts are good, etc, etc. you can get that info. by reading other posts and searching, like rycon suggested. on the other hand, if you want to know the difference between, i don't know, say, two different types of pistons, then i bet rycon would be one of the first to send you towards the right answer if not just give it to you.

my point, if you're going to be on a forum like this you need a thicker skin. people are here to HELP you. but you have to let them know what you want and how to help you.

good luck with your build, my lude is a 2-stroke also. i go about a quart per week and a half now. i'm looking into a rebuild myself.
