well...im a little ***** when it comes to my car hehe..i don't hit it very often....i'm either balls deep (through the gears shifting at redline), or shifting @3-3.5k...there's really no inbetween for me
it's really weird though, once i hit vtec, i just CAN'T let off before (or a few hundred revs shy of) the tach indicated redline..vtec beckons me
all my friends tell me i drive like a pansy ...o well
VTEC in every gear? What kind of gas mileage would a person get doing that? I usually hit VTEC every once in a while when provoked by other cars to do so.
I like to switch to my higher profile set of cams every once in a while, not every gear mostly 1st, 2nd, and 3rd unless I'm on the freeway then I downshift to 4th
yeha..see...some people hit vtec ALL THE TIME. The ONLY reason i dont do it is cause of fuel consumption. I only vtec it once every 5 minutes or so during normal driving, not even.
i will either drive normally and baby the car most of the time.
or i might drive hard to the top of the low-cam and shift
if I vtec it i am going to bring it fairly close to redline...you wont see me hitting vtec and then shifting at like 5600 rpm to the next gear or anything...thats a waste of gas and if u are doing that then you really had no use in ever using VTEC

I absolutely have to twice a day otherwise I'll get my rear end smashed in while trying to get onto the highway on my way to and from work. But I naturally tend to shift right after VTEC engages if I'm trying to get moving pretty quick (or it'll spin the tires on bad surfaces in 1st), seems that much gets the job done unless I'm trying to really haul.
