Hitting a rev limiter at 3K

just like the title says, after a complete head job ( port n polish) small cams, timing belt, im hitting a rev limiter at 3000rpms. does anyone know why? its timed right, the way i know this is i didnt time it myself i had a honda shop do it. the mech last night said it seems like it went into "default" mode or something to that extent, but i got no idea what that is or means. and would the RED key reset the ecu or just reprog my keys? im at a loss guys ive been out a car for 5 months and got 1 friend in the state im in, and on top of that im 1508 miles from home anyone can lend any helping hand please do. im just at a total loss right now.

It sounds like your ECU is in limp mode. Is the CEL on?

^I can't answer that without knowing the CEL code/codes. It could be something minor, or your engine could be totally screwed...Good luck.

You just may have wasted a lot of money on something you could have done in literally 45 seconds.

That's not bad considering what it could have been. You lucked out.
