Before I turned my car off tonight, I popped the hood to make sure everything still sounded as it should. I noticed a very slight hissing noise which could be heard more distinctly by moving my ear to the intake box...is it normal to be able to hear it like this when idling, with the stock intake...or should I check for leaks or something?

Sounds like your resonator is removed...in which case, the hissing sound is normal. Are you the original owner?

no it's not that...an open closer inspection, the hissinis actually coming from the other side of the engine bay, although it's very hard to locate the origin...while I had it popped checking for that, a fast paced ticking started (the car's idling with a warm engine), from the upper engine bay near the intake manifold...I have no idea what valve tick sounds like exactly, or how quickly paced it is, but I just had my 30k check up so that shouldn't be a possibility...
