wats up fellaz, i got my koni shocks this weekend so i was doin the install on it wit my skunk2 coils...i was told that i needed koni ring adapters from skunk2 so i got those...im curious now because im not sure if i did the install the right way but on the koni shocks itself theres a yellow steel clip- (snap ring) and koni sent me a silver plate that "springs or lowering springs" wood sit on, im not sure if i wood have to use that silver plate for my coilovers or juss place that koni ring adapter over that yellow steel clip and juss place the coilover w/ sleeve to sit on that...is that the correct way? i saw a write up on honda-tech koni shocks/ground control coils and ground control coils actually have a machined lip inside the coil about a half inch into it and that will sit right over the steel clip (snap ring) , i dunno but wen i tink bout it , its like my whole car is juss really sitting on that steel clip (snap ring)...any feedbaqs ? appreciated
thats how my setup looks rite now, you c that silver cup...is that only supposed to be used wit springs? am i suppose to take that off and place it wit the ring adapter and den juss place the sleeve n coil to sit on that adapter? also notice this cup is upside down , but it sits into the steel clip...more i tink bout it im tinking im suppose to take that cup off....
If the Skunk2 sleeves don't have a machined groove that the snap ring fits inside like the Ground Controls then you need to use the silver spring perch that Koni supplied. But you should turn it right side up so the snap ring sits in the groove of the perch. You don't want the perch to just sit on top of the snap ring. The groove keeps the snap ring from popping out.

okay but wat about the koni ring adapter that skunk2 gave me to use? the adapter they gave me basically looks like a thick metal washer that has a lip on it to sit on that snap ring...and im not sure if i juss place that first and juss let the sleeve & coil sit on that?!? or u c the pic above that silver cup is actually upside down but it fits into the snap ring that way because it has the groove in it if its upside down...im tinking that cup is only to be used for stock or lowering springs?

Why don't you call up Koni USA and ask them? I'm sure they can answer you better than we can.

You only use the metal cup if you are using the Koni's with lowering springs. You don't use them with coilovers. Skunk2 should have sent you an adapter that slides down over the circlip. It should have an edge for the clip to sit in so that it rests on the clip and surounds it at the same time. (keeping the clip from being able to possibly come loose. The sleeve will go over that adapter. Those clips are very strong and, as long as they have an edge surounding their perimiter, will not budge.

I don't have adaptors or tools for those Skunk2 coilovers besides what's already installed. I just ordered new Koni Yellows. My question is whether I need to order any other parts (such as that koni adapter ring in the link) to make this setup work? I don't think this was conclusively answered yet. Thanks.

It's been answered. Reread the previous posts.

So is this answer the conclusive correct answer? I need to know if this "adapter that slides down over the circlip" is already on my car right now if my skunk2 coilovers are currently installed over stock shocks. The seller of my car didn't give me anything extra that's not already installed on the car, so that's why I'm wondering (and I'm a noob). Thanks.
