how in the name of God do you get the top bolt off that pipe that connects to the cat (that triangle shaped dealy)? and anyone have any advice on how to remove the parts that attatch to the rubber hangers? i already took the muffler off, but that was easy since i could push it strait back, but this other pipe doesn't move since its still connceted to the cat.
To get that top bolt, its a good idea to drop all the hangars off first so you can get access to it. Once the hangars are off, the whole pipe hangs down and you'll have more room to get to that top bolt.
Make sure you spray some lubricant onto the bolts the night before so that'll it'll be easier to take off. As a last resort, make sure you got a breaker bar (or any metal hollow tube to extend the wrench) so you can get that bolt off.
To get the rubber hangers off, again use the lubricating spray and spray liberally, then get a skinny screw driver and stick that mother into there and start pulling and moving the rubber hanger until it slips off.
Good luck.

yea drop the cat and you can get it.....try to soak wd40 in and if it dun work heat it up alil.....then soak it then let it cool a bit.....it might absorb more like that
try a hammer and a wrench, have a friend hold the wrench and repeatedly hit the wrench with the hammer, just be sure to have the car propped up safely otherwise...
Originally posted by leif i got it off, thanks guys. My new N1 is sweeeet. Stinks like woa right now though.
Good to hear you got it off The smell will go away after awhile a few days.
On another note for you and any other DIY'ers, whenever you get underneath your car, make sure you got jackstands and chalks (to keep the car from rolling). I hear its not a good thing to have your car fall w/ you underneath it
