Help with Removing the Rice...... New Muffler Suggestions
I need suggesitons. I bought my car with a 4" Ractive Fireball Muffler / Grapefruit Cannon on it .
I hate the look of it, but with the silencer in.... it doesn't sound half bad. Decent tone but still quiet (Just slightly louder than stock). My problem is to me it looks rice (although the install was good and you can hardly see it).
I was wondering if anyone has any replacement suggestions that would look better but still have a quiet & deep sound without breaking the bank. I know some of the ebay mufflers sound alright, but the inside decintigrates after a few years, so reliability is an issue. Again, I am looking for muffler only since I have some important purchases coming up.
If you don't like the single pipe look, you can try a Magnaflow dual tip like I have. Quiet and Magnaflow don't belong in the same sentence though. If you want quiet, you might try a twin loop but be prepared to pay out the butt for those.
^^ Mugen isn't exactly easy on the pocket book..... although I love the sound and look.
KahnBB6, your sig picture is not showing. I have heard that they are pretty decent. Heard a sound clip and I like it. Not sure what one goes for though...
Just curious, so don't flame me, but why do a lot of the ludes that i hear with aftermarket exhausts have that ugly rattling coffee can noise at WOT? I have the same problem on my lude but it lessens as the motor warms up. Anyone care to explain? Is there anything i can do to get rid of it or should i just get a new exhaust to fix the problem?
RS*R catback exhaust. One of the best and it looks like the car was manufactured that way. My sig picture has it.
+1...I have had it on my car for several years now, and I can't imagine having anything else on the car. The Evo is too loud IMO, and the only exhaust quieter than the RS*R is the Apexi WS from what I've personally listened to.
