Help! My car wont hit VTEC!

For the past 2 days my car will not even go into VTEC in 1st gear, then in all of the other gears it hits at about 6500. I dont know what is goin on. Then tonight, I tried to get it to kick in in 3rd gear and when it hit at 6500, the "Check Engine" light came on. Anyone know what this is? Im takin it to Honda on Tuesday, but Id like to find out if its something that I can fix.

Yeah it was warmed up, I have a little bit of sense

But I did check the oil, and it was low, but not extremely, Im gonna go put some oil in tho and see if that makes a difference.
