help me figure out previous mod

I keep finding new mods on my car and don't really know what they are. My latest one is while install the fogs using the DIY on here I got the the part where I connect the orange wire the the harness in the front of the car. However, my orange wire has been connected to the turn signal wires. I'm pretty sure the turn signals have a larger bulb in them so I'm wondering if that's why or if it does something else.

maybe he set up the turn signals to be "fogs" by using a dual filament bulb in them.

more details

Thanks guys, I've never heard of that before. I guess I can just pull that orange one out now and finish the install. On a side note I just pulled out the center console to install a short shifter and found a set of grey wires (not stock) sitting there and going towards the back of the car. My mission tomorrow is to find where they lead. I swear I bought the Mystery Machine.

wires from center console (there is a hole drilled through the dash that goes into the cup holder area) go to the tail lights. After pulling off the carpet covers the wires to the bulbs are all spliced and the mystery wire goes along the left side to the right side and ends. The plastic cover of the wire is removed around the right side light and ends with wire showing at the left side light. WTF? Aftermarket taillights wouldn't a need a new wire and a rear fog wouldn't have the wire exposed around the right side. IDK. anyway just thought I would update on my weird previous mods.

If you think that's bad, you should see how I purchased my car.

It has an indiglo gauge cluster face. In order to power them, the previous owner tapped into the left sidemarker with telephone cord. The cord was run down the inside of the fender, then outside the hood, around the A-pillar, back into the driver's door, and under the dash.

The door speakers were installed with handfuls of saran wrap behind each one. The screws to hold the speakers even went through the wrap.

So the telephone wire was visible from the outside of the car then, no? That is pathetic.

Ya I can't even imagine why someone would use telephone cord, was it the twisted up kind lol? I keep finding those packing foam peanuts in random spots under carpet, in the center console, etc. again, no idea why.

The telephone cord was the standard round kind you would find in someone's attic.

As for the foam peanuts, maybe someone shipped your car.

You can splice your side markers with the Turn signals to get them to blink when you put your turn signal on. But that sounds different then what you are talking about.

^the above is a good safety mod BTW
