try changin the oil and filter of course, then i recomend using seafoam (others probably wont) then highway driving probably 50-55 in 4th gear for a little while and then try again, if that doesnt help it could be anything from burning too much oil to needing a new cat (just my experience) hope this helps

unfortunatley you would have to figure out when you got the cat or how long its been in there !! my emissions was much worse than yours trust me just change the cat ,spark plugs and wires run it till its burning hot then take it in for the test !
supreme gas doesnt hurt just to clear out the carbon deposit if your not already using supreme! oil change !
goodluck

If all else fails, move to hot and not sunny as you'd think Florida. My first truck i took the cat off and nobody cares. Gotta love no emissions.

Ok, i would start by checking the cat and the o2 sensors, then i would look into getting the egr ports cleaned and have the intake manifold cleaned out good, then i would make sure the oil is good and the filter is good then make sure your fuel filter is good, then put in preium gas and drive for a little bit. Test and see. Some people would say use injector cleaner or octane boost or somehthing like that but i personally wouldn't especially right before you get it tested.(i know some poeple who use deisel in their gas to clean evreything out, on occasion). If your car needs to meet the requirement and it is modified then you may have a serious iussue, perhaps install the stock parts and retest if all else fails?

Join the club. You can buy a car or you can go to every inspection station until you find one that doesn't care or bribe them to pass you

^Or move. I could have mustard gas and baby blood spewing from my tail pipe and still register my car.

However this tread is nearly a year old, so this issue has probably long since been resolved.
