Sounds like your SS **** the bed. It was bound to happen. Time for a real man's tranny swap. Leave the Auto's for Amputee's.

there really is no "trouble shooting" to be done on the SS suto tranny. Even when running fine they are basically already dead. I know it really sucks I had a 1998 base auto as well

Not really in this case. My girlfriend has never owned a manual car, my ex wife was terrible at driving stick. So terrible she fried my old car's stock clutch. Then later yelled at me for spending the money to buy a new one. Women. Glad she is now my EX wife, best money I ever spent on that lawyer (2nd best was canceling my verizon account and going to ATT). Some women can drive manual very well. However most find it difficult to change songs, apply eye makeup, eat, talk on the cell phone, and shift gears all at the same time.

^^^

I have to agree with dontbuy though. Whether it's you or kronn(for whom I've been through this whole thing before)--I don't profile people because of their inabilities. To say auto's are for women because they suck at driving stick is like saying jobs are for those who are only good enough without an education.

That's bull****. Anything is good enough for anybody who is willing to cope or learn with the different situation/environment.

pIERCE is an auto-lover.

What's with the negative 1 trader rating?

No...I just defend peoples wishes to drive their cars of choice without harassment.

Don't get me completely wrong though, I don't want an auto--and don't think sports enthusiasts should buy an auto--any more than you guys, I just would rather keep the harassment sarcastic, instead of personal.

T-Dot complained about all of his negative iTrader ratings being deleted somehow, so I left him a little(sarcastic) present.

He left one back.

(whats with your 2 positive ratings, nice guy?)

I'm an extremely nice guy. Look at all my helpful posts. I'm not Tee-Dot or anything.

The rating, however, comes from my part-out thread.

To the OP, more than likely you're going to have to visit a tranny shop . . . . much of beauty of the manual tranny lies in its simplicity . . . as such, it's much more common to DIY with a manual tranny than with an auto. Good luck!

thks

thks for the advise to tell the truth iv been considering the 5 speed swap sense i bought the car (witch was the only bb6 i could find for 5k, wanted the 5 speed) i was planing to do it until had to have the head machined cuz of failed timing belt auto tensioner witch led to timing belt failure witch bent exhaust valves on #2 and #3. so there went the savings i was just hoping for some way to get a few more miles out of the auto. Oh well

Contact the OP of this thread that only has forward gears:

Automatic 98 prelude has no reverse

Weld your car to his, then between the two of you will be a car that can travel in both directions.

Or sell your car and buy a 5spd.
