hello, just need some info on a few things :D

Hello, i would just like to say nice forum use have here

I'm new on here and i live in Australia, Adelaide. I've been looking to buy a Honda Prelude for my 1st car as im getting my P's soon!

I hope when i get my P's theres some people around here so we can go for a cruze

I have found one for sale at a used Honda car dealer he is asking about $14,990 but i think its only worth about $12,000 I got this price from Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book it has information about the cars and prices.

here is the link to the car information:
Redbook

Anyways...its a dead stock silver metallic 1998 Honda Prelude VTI-R 4speed tiptronic auto. It has a 2.2L Vtec engine, only 102,000kms, it has books and service history, ONE owner!, very clean leather, cd stacker and Sunroof.

The engine is in immaculate condition they done a good job of cleaning it you can see your face in some places!! LOOL xD I think it has been lowered i don't know if they cut the springs or put new ones in, its hard to check as it is low. The paint is in very good condition there is no signs of scratches or resprays.

Anyways getting to my point...i would like to know what use think about the price and the car ill try snap up a few pictures without them seeing LOOL as they might get angry xD

BTW please let me know is it a good idea getting a semi-auto/tiptronic same sh*t xD

Also if use guys would let me know what use think on what version of Honda Prelude to get...?

Also sorry about the long thread i tried to make it shorter its the best i could do

Comment away!!!

sounds like a nice car, but i just don't like the sport shift automatics, they've been known to fail in the long run and i guess if you don't mind doing a auto to manual swap down the line it might be "ok". might as well just get a manual now. check prelude UK forums, and find yourself a nice one

ok, well i would love to import one but there is a law in Australia on importing cars they already sell here "your stealing their business or some bullsh*t like that i dont know LOOL" anyways the honda preludes that we have here arnt all that good and especially in the state i live its hard to come by one that is in good condition, manual and runs fine etc.. also the prices are ridicules..i would rather drive a bmw for the price they are selling it i mean come on!.

if you might have known here in australia we have Defects hopefully use have some Australian users that have mentioned this in a few other threads im not sure if use have that in your countries and states?, if your car has been modified to a certain level and it has gone past the "failure to meet the SAFETY of the cars standard or somthing like that" anyways the Police here are the biggest D*ckheads sorry to any police officers out there but its true they look at the smallest things just to take your money...my mate got pulled over they were there for a few hours just so they could find something and they found 1 lil dried up bit of oil where it has leaked at one stage i mean come on i bet your cars arnt perfect LOL !!!

anyways also why do you say it might be "ok" to swap it to a manual, anyways um ill try get some pictures of it as its been raining here for the past 2 days lol

ohh and also its only a 4 speed which is the downside will it matter if i convert it to a manual?? like can i make it a 5speed...sorry im not that good with the really technical things but yea i know a **** load of info on the general things!

sorry i didn't read your whole reply, just skimmed something i thought was important to what i said. i didn't know they didn't have austrailian cars on prelude uk, i just figured that was a rather large forum that spanned all over the place. is there an austrailian based forum somewhere? gotta be
