Disconnect the battery. You can immediately reconnect it.

5w30. If your oil is low vtec won't work. If your car is still under warranty I'd just let the dealer sort it out.

your lude is still under warranty...take it in to honda so they can check it out....take advantage of the warranty now before it ends..since you only have 30k

I think I have the same problem as you. Its a 2001 with 5500 miles on it when I felt the power lost. Took it to the dealer and they tested it with many tests (yeah right) and told me nothing was wrong. I know there's something wrong. When I had about 200 lbs of stuff in my trunk before this happened and compared to now, the power is completely different. Alot weaker, I would say 60 percent weaker! I don't know what it is. I was thinking maybe it could be the clutch? It did get little looser and first gear is really weak, doesn't pull as hard. It starts off really slow.

I think the dealer doesn't want to be honest with me because it's covered under warranty and I have honda care. So I'm suspecting this to be a very expensive problem? Maybe my tranny is bad? Because I did f**k the clutch a lot from bad driving technique when I first got the car. I remember I hacked the damn shifter, shifting hard. Grinding, and even once on vtec (6600 rpms). And I remember hitting cut off, going over 8000 rpms several times.

Do you think these factors caused power lost?
What can I do to restore the power?

i don't think its the clutch or driving patterns, those problems won't show up till a lot more miles than 5000 or 30,000. I learned stick off of my car now, and it's still fine... One thing is though, it might be phsycological. You could have gotten used to it and it doesn't feel as powerful as you "first put it in to vtec"(i know you all rememeber that time ). I drove a friends car then drove mine, i was like wtf is wrong wit my car its soooo slow..

Are you saying that we are paranoid? I wish I was. But for reals! That shiet is slow! But I'm use to it now. I guess I'll just get an intake or something.

Where can I get my car dynoed in 323/626 area?
