heatshield air filter

does anyone have one ? how is it ? does it improve performance at all since it's supposed to block the heat coming in from the engine. just wondering.

it's also blocking the air that's suppose to go in. it's all for looks you know...

DON"T GET IT. WASTE OF MONEY> but it wont hurt your car.

it'll just make it slower.

less dense air is better than no air.

unless you put holes in it... it might work...

if you have turbo or anysort of forced induction in your car, then it's gonna kill your engine performance....

it's not going to block off the heat if it is going to get hot as crap in the engine bay...

i would recommend the Injen heat shield tho...only covers up the top so it looks kool for the nice polish look, or for cais juss stick it down in the bumper with the filter to keep crap from getting on the filter

well i went to my friend's shop tonight and tried out one with a carbon fiber heat shield. I'm going to leave it on for a week and see how it goes. Going home i could hear it sounds deeper now and i haven't seen any drop in performance. maybe my old air filter was dirty as shiet, that's why. we'll see. it does look good in carbon fiber.

by the way, the heat shield has plenty of holes all around on top of the air filter so it won't block the air from getting in.

I would think since that is metal it would retain heat, causing the air to be hotter than it would be with just an air filter. Atleast the air filter won't retain heat like that would

get some metal, bend it, make a wall, that would be better.
