Healiner is rattling over rear seats.

So ya, my headliner started to have this rattly sound to it. When i put some pressure on it while its rattleing in that spot it goes away. I think i need to pull it down and either put some dynomat up there or see what might be causing the rattle...anyone experience this. what did you do ti fix it.

It's not the antenna wire.. it is the wire that runs to the sunroof motor.. i have yet to do this mod.. there is a write-up somewhere..

I had a lot of rattles that I fixed by removing the headliner and using duct tape for all of the wiring. There are many pieces of tape there from the factory that were loose and causing the noises. I also put some large felt squares between the headliner and the wires. You will be able to find a lot of things you can do to quiet it down once you remove the headliner.
there is a removal write-up here: Write Up: How to Remove Interior Headliner

there's a TSB for that rattle - I have a copy of it buried somewhere on my machine. Instructions for the Honda dealership are to remove the headliner and add felt tape to kill the noise - simple as that.

For whatever it's worth, I pulled out the headliner and completely tied up, strapped down, taped and glued the sh|t out of everything up there 3 times . . . . ticking didn't go away.

I finally "gave up" and bought one of those $6 foam camping pads from Wal-mart - cut out two pieces that would fit on either side of the center clip in the headliner, and stuffed them as far back as I could get them from the rear moonroof seam. Ticking gone.

headliner rattle

I had some headliner rattles/clicks, and it turns out for me it was the adhesive on the edges where it touches the metal/glass. I went to the fabric section of WalMart and got a set of sticky backed felt (<$1) which I cut into small strips and pushed up around the edges. I've used that in various cracks in the car, it works like a champ for the most part.

I tried pulling the headliner out once, but that little clip in the center I couldn't get loose and I didn't want to break it. I might have to check out some of the writeups mentioned. (I was looking in the Helms at the time)

problem solved btw, i just wrapped a section of the lose moonroof motor wire with the red backed double sided tape. Its got that gummy quality so it acts as a cushion and also holds in place. I also managed to tear off the 3 clips mounted on the rear of the headliner, but reattatched with good ole jb weld. thanks for your help. Alsp on a side note...are those tubes running on each side of the roof for the rear window fluid on the jdm rear glass?

Well Honda put felt tape on the back on my headliner and mine still rattles. When my car was under warranty I took it back and Honda could never find where the rattle was coming from. I took it to 2 different dealership and it's still not fixed. Mine usually rattles whenever it is cold outside. Maybe one day I will get rid of it.
