headliner rattle in 5G

I have a '99 Prelude that I thougth was developing a rattle in the trunk/rear deck but I found that when the rattle starts & I press up on the headliner it stops the annoying noise. Does anyone have a quick fix for this or experience the same problem? Thanks for the help. The dealer could not locate the rattle this past Monday. I prefer to fix myself just to know it was done right. How difficult is it to remove the headliner?

Let me guess the, rattle is above your head where the moonroof track is? Well, at least that is where mine is. All I have to do is barely touch the roof and the rattle stops. It drives me nuts, but I just up the radio and it seems to dissipate with the music sound. I would also like to hear as many fix it tips as possible.

I may be dismantling my interior for some more sound deadening in a few weeks, if I do, I'll post pics.

The headliner is attached by some white plastic snap-in pieces. Honda messed up with the glue they used. What you have to do is re-glue the little plastic pieces to the headliner, then snap them back in place. I'm guessing that you have to use one of those hot-melt glue guns. I think that there was a TSB on this, but I'm not sure.

I discovered that one of mine had come unglued when I installed my rear-window sunshade. But my headliner still isn't rattling all that badly. Someday I'll get around to fixing it.

the rattle is actually at the rear of the headliner, where it presses against the rear windshield. there's a thin foam strip that runs across the top and that's where the noise is coming from.

when my rear windshield was smashed (by that damn tree!!!), i had my mechanic fix that for me. all he did was remove that foam strip and since then, it's been rattle free. BUT instead, now i have little broken pieces of smashed glass making even more noises.

Since I started using the sunshade and holding it up with my sun visors, they have been wearing a little in the cylinders and now that rattles on mine on certain days...
