Bump! Can anyone answer this? Should the head bolts be replaced?

One hell of an old bump. My first instinct would be to check your Helms manual

SpoonerTuner.com - Free downloadable Honda Acura Factory Service Manuals by HELMS

Then if you can't figure it out after that, start a new thread.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks. Sorry about resurrecting the dead, but nobody actually answered the question. I hate starting new threads. Also, the Helms manual says nothing about replacing the bolts. I had a 78 Accord and did not change the head bolts and I could never get the torque correct due to bolt stretch. Thanks for the replies!

Im not sure about the torque values, but i just got some ARP head bolts for my h22a4. Had a shop install them, messing up my internals or not torquing them correctly is one thing i didnt wanna mess with. I suggest you do the same, its not expensive anyway, and its dun right you know?

Thanks Gawell30. Kind of off subject, but the PO just replaced the headgasket and 1000 miles later I have steam coming out of the exhaust. I did a pressure check on the cooling system and it lost pressure pretty rapidly.
My question is this...The gasket he used looks pretty Autozone-ish. Should I only use the OEM honda gasket??
