Have any of you guys DIY your WHOLE interior?

I want to tear the upholstery up in my car and sew my own seats and carpet and everything, I was wondering if you guys have ever done it? I have the helms manual and I know how to take apart the seats and everything. I know how to sew patterns to match the seats I just need to know what kind of threads and sewing patterns I should use and any advice like don't tear the originals! I plan on making my seats more comfortable too because it sucks sitting in our seats for 2-3 hours of driving. Anywho, just curious if anyone has experience in interior DIY. I don't want to resort to getting my car done for 1000 bucks yet.

I forgot: What kind of preparation is needed for plastic interior parts? I know improper painting can cause it to chip and crack in the future... is there a process to produce flawless paint on dash and stuff?

If you used armol all or any of those cleaner products, be sure to make sure all the residue is OFF COMPLETELY or your paint WILL chip.
