Had it for a month

About a month or so, I sunk all of my money into the car of my dreams. A 2001 honda prelude, I drove two hours just to get the car and quickly fell in love with it. So last weekend, me and my buddy were picking up some girls to hangout with on the second day of spring break. We just left one girls houses, and we were on the way home to hangout, yano? So i turn off the girls road with my friend riding my a** which im not too happy about. I realize then that I dont know where were going so i pull over to the side of the road so he can lead the way. I pull over and wait about two seconds then look to see where he is, the next thing i knew, i saw his car smash into the front-right quarter panel of my prelude, sending my bumper flying off into the air somehow, So i knew it was bad. I get out of my car and walk to the front of my car to see what the damage is. My whole bumper is laying two feet away from my car, totally detatch from my car and both my wheels are facing eachother, which I dont think is normal? after that i realize that i should be kicking the Sh*t out of him, since it is clearly his fault. I walk to his car and immeditly became even more pissed off to see that all his dodge intrepid suffered was a slightly bent quarter panel and a missing pop screw on his bumper. I then began cursing at him then punched his door, denting it in...After that i try to pull my car to the side of the road and it would hardly move. I didnt think the suspension was off alighnment that bad, but i got out to check again. Again, i saw that my wheels were facing eachother, but it somehow got worse during the 1 foot crawl to the side of the road. I ended up not beating the sh*t out of my buddy but realized today that i have have about 3000$ worth of damage, with paint and all, and 0$ to pay for it. F*ck my life, haha, but i know it could be worse

Why is he not paying for it? It sounds like he is at fault. And if it would have been my "friend", he would have had a hospital bill...No one touches my lude...haha

Also, is eville Edwardsville, Illinois?

That really sucks man... The damage looks worse than $3,000 in my opinion; but then again, I live in Southern California where everything is overpriced.

Thanks everybody, but the reason he isnt paying for it is because were both 16 years old and i dont expect him to spend all his money to fix my car. I just feel like it would be better if i payed for it. I forgot to mention we cant turn it in to insurance becuase since i still have my probationary license, i would be considered "high risk", and my insurance payment would cost over 700$ a month. F*ck That haha. (Eville=Evansville, IN, by the way) Ill have pics up later, but right now i gotta go to school

Exactly. It doesn't matter if you are friends or not or only 16 years of age. You have major damage and his insurance should pay for it.

And how the f*ck did he manage to hit your car?

You're seriously going to pay for it yourself? It was his fault, right? His insurance company should pay for it and that won't affect what you pay your own insurance company.

I'm with these guys.

A true friend would step up to the table and take the blame. Assuming it was all his to begin with.

Thats a tough spot to be in no matter what side you're on, but I have to say, try to think it out.

I know this may sounds stupid, but maybe your parents and his parents can work out a deal to say...ohh, I don't know...change up the story a little bit, such as, it was HIS parents driving his car, and they accidentally ran into YOUR parents driving your car, then the insurance would still cover it, and neither of the young kids involved' insurances would go up....yes it'd affect the parents insurance, but not as much as yours or your friend...

Like I said, it's a stretch, but it would probably work, and it'd get your car fixed without totally screwing you, or your friend.

I know how you feel, i dinged (to say the least) a mailbox last fall and its a horrible feeling to smash up your lude.

Did you file a report with the police? Because even if you went to the insurance with it, they would be a little skeptical (and maybe harder on your insurance rates) if you didnt have a police report to accompany the insurance claim.

if all else fails, tell insurance that you hit a deer!

i have no clue...he wasnt paying attention? According to my mom, we are "young and inexperienced" and weve already filed a police report, so the story has already been made. Everything isnt really thought through yet, but ill just hope that everything works out alright, and if it doesnt, theres gonna be a beatdown
