Had DC Header Installed - Not feeling much difference...
Had my header put in yesturday. Its the 4-2-1 DC Sports Ceramic Coated and I do kinda feel the car being peppier and the sound is nice, but performance-wise I didn't feel the difference I felt when I put my intake and exhaust on. I have a 98 prelude with the old header-style, so I thought that I would get decent gains with the header, but I have yet to see anything that great. What do you guys recommend - could there be an exhaust leak - how can I tell, etc.
Welcome to the world of sh1tty DC products I doubt u have any leaks and the 97-98 header is the same as the 99-01 (proven).
U can check for leaks by keeping the hood open and starting it to c if u feel any air and look under the car for hissing noises, but i don't think u will have any leaks, but just disapointment
I was thinking about getting the dc cc 4-2-1 headers..but this is discouraging...I figured since u have an exhaust to go along with it, u should of felt some difference! U think the stainless steel one works better???
maybe the weather? it was colder when you got your intake and exhaust so you felt more power, but now maybe its a bit warmer and you dont feel as much pull? test drive at night maybe? i dont know i am just throwing out ideas

That wouldn't make a diff. at all. Actually the CC is cheaper and absorbs less heat so more pwr. but noticeable
And $275 is an awesome price b/c i got mine for $285 shipped and that was a good deal
Although maybe u didn;t feel any noticeable gains w/ the header keep in mind that u did take off a lot of weight b/c the DC is a lot lighter the OEM and u also took off the heat shield

The header did make some difference - sound and little bit more pick-up, but nothing crazy. Today I dropped in my AEM Tru-Time Pulleys and that definitely made a difference. The car when at idle revs up like a beast and it gets to VTEC a LOT quicker. Definitely worth the money - great mod. Lights dim a tiny bit, nothing to honestly worry about. Other than that I'm pretty darn happy - fully tuned suspension, header and pulleys. The ride is great, handling is ridiculous and the pick-up got a good boost. Over-all I'm very happy.

im helping my friend sell his headers and other 5th gen aftermarket products: neuspeed, VIS, WW, JDM... etc.. hes returning his car back to stock the DC Ceramic header is going for 200 right now.. its only used for about 4 months.. 6 months on the car.
the DC header made a good difference on the mid range power on my car i just had one put one wed and ive enjoyed it. I did not get anything between 1000-2500 rpms but after that it was good allthoe i did not get alot of gains in VTEC. Ive got the AEM intake and DC header now. The hesitation i usually got when starting in first gear is gone also. I would get this again, It also gets rid of extra weight and it helps your engine run cooler and better. I did notice that the bottom portion of the DC header is smaller. Besides our cars are not ment to be race cars and you can do all the bot ons you want and it still will not get into the 13's without turbo supercharger or nos. if you want a sweet setup dont waste time with exaust use the same money and get nos and buy the header and the intake and a VTEC controller and youll be in the 13's and thats the best HP for ya dollar
when i first installed the dc headers....at the first red light, green.....pealed out nasty from just flooring it......and its just an automatic........hehe maybe the blower had a little to do with it......

its kind of hard to remember how much deeper it acutally is than stock, but I know you can REALLY notice a noise difference when you hit VTEC, it just screams

I can't really say too much bout the headers (cuz I installed them and my greddy evo at the same time) but I can definitely say that with all three (I/H/E) it is definitely more fun to drive. Some of the hesitation is gone and it sounds so much better. I just got my AEM pullies last night and I am goin to try an get them on before the weekend. I keep hearin bout the great benefits an I'm anxious to get them on.
