h23 in bb6

i know someone here and he told me he is going to get a h23 vtec 5 speed in a bb6 auto...i know this is possible cause anything is but would his car be quicker then a 5 speed i dont think it will since the gear ratios on a h23 is longer and slower...and also the motor is going into a heavier car...do you think this is a waste of money..

Why would you swap out an H22A4 for an H23A? It will be alot slower, even if it is a 5 Speed. Why would you ever consider doing that??

Just to get this strait, a BB6 is a 97-98 'Lude right??

But if he was going to turbo it, I have heard that the h23 is much easier and less hassle to turbo than the h22a4. Also, more displacement, more torque. I dunno, but maybe that is his reasoning...and there are h23 VTECs?!?!?!?

I think there are 2.3 VTEC's that are in Australia or New Zealand. I know they make one for sure, but it didn't come to Canada. Either that or he could have a H23 block with H22 head. Maybe this guy is getting a turbo, and he is gaining money off it.
H23 is easier to turbo, and he could probably sell his H22a4 for a lot more money than buying back the H23. I personally wouldn't do it, but everyone has their own opinion right?

He's probably getting an engine with an H23 block and an H22 VTEC head, thus making an H23 VTEC.
